employees to raise concerns or appeal decisions related to their rights, compensation, or employment status. These procedures are clearly defined within the Employee System and its executive instructions, ensuring fairness, accountability, and adherence to Jordanian labor standards.

Key provisions include:

  • Article (15) of the Executive Instructions grants employees the right to appeal their employment classification, grade, or compensation within 90 days of their appointment decision.
  •  Article (61/A) of the amended Employee System allows employees to appeal all disciplinary penalties, expanding rights that were previously limited to dismissal cases.
  • Article (49/C) ensures the right to appeal annual performance evaluations if rated as “weak” or “average.”
  • Article (27/D) guarantees that employees cannot be transferred to positions of lower grade, class, or salary than their original posts.
  • Article (10) mandates the formation of a Personal Affairs Committee, responsible for reviewing all employee-related cases and ensuring compliance with university regulations.

In addition to that, BAU protects employee rights through several complementary systems:

  • A specialized end-of-service gratuity system and a provident fund system that secure financial stability upon retirement or completion of service.
  • The university has also established the Office for Retirees’ Affairs and Services, which follows up on the rights, benefits, and needs of retired employees, ensuring continuous care even after the end of service.
  • Strict enforcement of regulations governing working hours, ensuring that employees are not assigned duties beyond official hours without appropriate financial compensation, as outlined in Article (13) of the Salary and Allowances System.
