BAU provides extensive educational and research opportunities in sustainable water management. Academic programs include a master’s in water and environmental resources management, a bachelor’s in water resources and environmental management, and a Diploma in Water Treatment.

Through the International Research Center for Water, Environment, and Energy (IRCWEE), BAU leads national and international projects such as SWEM and WATER4MED, promoting water reuse, governance, and innovation. The university also collaborates with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation to deliver capacity-building programs on sustainable water governance.

Workshops, community outreach, and the Smart Organic Agriculture Program enhance public awareness of wastewater treatment, irrigation efficiency, and greywater reuse. By integrating education, research, and social engagement, BAU empowers communities and supports the achievement of SDG_06: Clean Water and Sanitation.
