Lifelong Learning Access Policy

Al-Balqa Applied University (BAU) is committed to its social mission under the guiding principle of “Education for All,” ensuring that educational and lifelong learning opportunities are accessible to everyone on an equitable and non-discriminatory basis.
To formalize this commitment, BAU has developed and adopted a dedicated Lifelong Learning Access Policy, in accordance with relevant national laws and regulations. The policy establishes the University’s commitment to providing fair, inclusive, and equitable access to lifelong learning opportunities and to removing barriers that may prevent individuals from benefiting from educational, training, and community learning activities.
The Policy ensures that access to lifelong learning activities is provided regardless of ethnicity, religion, disability, immigration status, or gender, and promotes an educational environment based on equality, inclusion, non-discrimination, and equal opportunity.

Lifelong Learning Policy and Regulations

BAU’s Lifelong Learning Access Policy is supported by the University’s institutional regulations and relevant national legislation. Together, these instruments provide a framework for ensuring equitable access to education and lifelong learning opportunities.
• General Policies for Admission to Official Universities in The MoHE, issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which provide the national regulatory framework governing access to higher education.
• Jordanian Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, supporting the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
• BAU Student Clubs Instructions, supporting inclusive participation and engagement in university activities.

Lifelong Learning Access

Inclusive Access to Lifelong Learning
BAU’s Lifelong Learning Access Policy applies to the University’s educational, training, skills-development, awareness, and community learning opportunities. It supports access for people from diverse backgrounds and seeks to reduce barriers that may prevent individuals from benefiting from lifelong learning.
Through this policy, BAU promotes:
• Equal access to educational and lifelong learning opportunities.
• Non-discrimination in participation and access.
• Inclusion of people with disabilities through appropriate support and accessibility measures.
• Equal opportunities for women and men to participate in education and skills development.
• Support for international students and individuals from different national backgrounds.
• Community access to education, awareness, training, and skills-development opportunities beyond the formally enrolled student population.

Lifelong Learning Opportunities for Diverse Groups
BAU translates its commitment to inclusive lifelong learning into opportunities provided through its colleges, departments, specialized centers, and community engagement initiatives,These include:

Education and Skills Development: BAU provides educational lectures, training courses, workshops, professional development activities, and skills-development opportunities for students and members of the wider community.

Civil Society and Schools Outreach: The University extends learning beyond its campuses through educational and awareness activities delivered in local schools, hospitals, community organizations, and other community settings, so it has launched the unit of development and local community service.

Support for Persons with Disabilities: BAU provides support services designed to facilitate access to education and participation for students with disabilities.

Support for International Students: BAU provides support and services for international students, contributing to an inclusive educational environment for learners from different countries and backgrounds.
Women’s Empowerment and Community Learning: BAU provides educational and awareness activities addressing women’s empowerment, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and skills development.
