Carbon Neutrality

BAU is committed to becoming a low-carbon university, addressing Jordan’s environmental challenges through its Sustainability Strategy and Strategic Plan, which extends through 2035. While the university does not specify a single target date for full carbon neutrality, its Climate Action Plan (2022–2026), developed from a Baseline Emission Inventory, outlines concrete initiatives to reduce carbon emissions across Scope 1, 2, and partially Scope 3. Key measures include expanding solar energy deployment, enhancing energy efficiency via smart buildings, and promoting low- and zero-emission vehicles and alternative transportation options
